It was Nathaniel's idea

This pretty much for my own purposes so you don't have to read it. And I'm at work and bored. I may do a male list as well. Maybe even a movie list. The tiered idea works so much better than outright rankings.

In the end there will be 50, but I'm just putting in the ones that came to mind right now, and the list will be updated as the times change.

YOU'VE GOT THE LOVE (Remix)
The Source feat. Candi Staton

Sometimes I feel like
Throwing my hands up in the air
I know I can count on you
Sometimes I feel like saying
Lord I just don't care
But you've got the love I need
To see me through

Sometimes it seems that
The going is just too rough
And things go wrong
No matter what I do
Now and then I feel
That life is just too much
But you've got the love
I need to see me through

Sometimes I feel like
Throwing my hands up in the air
I know I can count on you
Sometimes I feel like saying
Lord I just don't care
But you've got the love I need
To see me through

Time after time
I say oh Lord whats the use
Time after time
I say this just won't do, but
Sooner or later in life the things you love you loose,
Just like before i know i'll call on you

Occasionally
my thoughts are brave and friends are few
Occasionally
I cry out Lord what must I do
Occasionally
I call up Master make me new
You've got the love
I need to see me through

Sometimes I feel like
Throwing my hands up in the air
I know I can count on you
Sometimes I feel like saying
Lord I just don't care
But you've got the love I need
To see me through

You've got the love (repeat)

Who thought I could love a dance song? A dance song remix!
Maybe this has something to do with it.
And also it's kinda like some kind of spiritually uplifting experience :P

Clicky clicky loady ready

It wasn't that interesting until Vince came into it.

And then you don't see anything of their relationship when they're together, just a series of stills, which is a real cop-out. And then you get to the part where they've split up. So although I think it's well acted - I loved Jennifer Aniston, I think she's very good - the film really annoyed me.

- David Stratton on The Break-Up

David I have news for you: THE STILLS WERE FANTASTIC. I LOVED THEM! How RUDE of the filmmakers to get straight to the part where they break up. Oh what's the movie called again?

Today's plan: Finish studying all the Advaita Vedanta stuff

"The activity of the Lord," Samkara maintains, "... may be supposed to be mere sport (lila), proceeding from his own nature, without reference to any purpose."

The concept of lila, of play or sport, seeks to convey that Isvara creates (sustains and destroys) worlds out of the sheer joy of doing so."

So what you're saying is that I can support Australia on Sunday, because if they win (or draw) it won't be as much harm to Brazil as if Brazil beats the Aussies. I had to think this over for a long time before I could work it out, and shower thinking too.

A vodka martini
A Jennifer Aniston movie
A TV series standing by

I had to call possibly the most annoying woman in Perth today about her overdue DVD. She proceeded to talk for almost 20 minutes about what was wrong with it, despite the fact that it was a problem with her player. My efforts to get her to just return it and have a replacement fell short, no less than five times.

Then to top it all off, when I finally got off the phone I heard the ending music to an advertisement. Music that also happens to feature prominantly in the promotional material for a certain movie, with a certain competition, to win a trip a certain American city, and tickets to the premiere of said movie as well as a certain after-party. I cried.

It was like thinking another movie sharing a certain cast member was coming out on my birthday, then discovering that it wasn't. Well it wasn't really like that, except that they were both depressing.

Jennifer Aniston looks cool when she wears jeans with torn knees. I just look like a bogan.

On the up side
I'll be getting my shirt on Tuesday
The Break-Up is out on Thursday
I rearranged my room last night, with the added strength of the above elements, and I'm really happy with it. My desk is in knowledge quarter, and I got to re-do my pin-up board
I'll play soccer soon
And, only 3 hours before it finished, I remembered I wanted to bid on a Friends trivia board game. And now I have the winning bid (crossing fingers)

And then down again
I won the Friends game, but bidding went mad 30 mins before it ended. All of a sudden my $15.50 bid jumped up to $40!
Playing it will be fun though. Magda, which one should we play first?

We had one customer in the china shop today spend $1500 - and put in an order for an 8-piece Myrtaceae dinnerset (which will probably be about $900)!! They're all going mad.

Myrtacae
The most expensive dinnerware range we make made

They also bought one of each of the items we have in the Zen range - where the cheapest thing (a 8cm x 8cm square 'plate') is $50

But it's got me thinking [info]kaleidoskopeyes, maybe I should get some dinnerware [for us], and join the hundreds of mad people that are buying up big.
Campaspe - you can't see but it has an embossed design around the edge
Myrtaceae - as I said, the most expensive - plus both this and Campaspe are hundreds of pieces in back-order
Aria - standard white range, not as cheap as...
Axis - the cheap standard white range, which also comes decorated as...
Haiku - which is purple, and
Orbit - khaki green, and
Volatile (blue and brown swirls), and
Aqua (blue decals) which I can't find pictures of them.

Then there's the handpainted ranges (Haiku and Volatile are handpainted too)
Blush - which I've always sort of liked, and now has a sister range in more subdued blues and pinks and reds and greys, etc - but on "made in China" china.
Fresh Fish, Citrus... and others... (I got a bit bored writing about them)

And if we have to get imported, there's this range on sale at the moment, Atlantis by Porcelain de Sologne, which is so cheap right now (like 80% off or something) but has all gone to the...

Claremont Sale: May 20 - so maybe think it over until then!

Anyone with a) access and b) interest check out page 4 (I think) of The West Australian today. There's a big article about AFC shutting down.

There's also an article in the Subiaco Post, but I don't think anyone has access to that. If you are interested, here.

There's also going to be something on ABC news tonight. They were filming all over the shop today. They asked us to turn the music off. Not happy.

I estimate that about 500 people today asked us about it. I mean, most of the questions weren't questions so much as "so I read that you sacked everyone" to which we constantly had to clarify "No. The factory is closing later this month, and we're producing overseas. The shop will still be in Subiaco, and we will still be making the same products, just not in Australia."

Channel 10 News just mentioned Zhang Yimou (not by name, "one of China's leading filmmakers"). Still. It was exciting. Because they were one step away from mentioning Gong Li! By the way, it was about this. Then again, this article is more succinct *and* mentions Gong Li. Kudos Edmonton Sun!

So there we were, me, Courtney Stewart, Caitlin Owen, Cat Lovegrove, others, having a tea party in the middle of Alexander Drive, when I noticed that planes kept taking off over our heads. I had just noticed that the next one was coming straight towards us when it stopped taking off and crashed to the ground. Of course it was going at about 200 km h-1 so it kept sliding along the median strip towards us. We got up and tried to run out of the way, but many were caught and killed. For some reason we decided we should continue the tea party but not long after another plane crashed and was sliding. This time I had to crouch down into a little crevice where the wing and body of the plane had left a gap. More people died and I was really scared. I decided to end the tea party and headed back to where my mummy was. There was laughter amongst her group because both the planes that crashed had were Maggie Cheung's planes. And apparantly she'd been drinking.

Kalasampatti

The asset of opportunity, aptness of time, or the support of time; that is, to be born at a time when the country lives in peace and harmony, the government is good, people live virtuously, praise goodness and do not support corruption; on an immediate level, to encounter opportunities at the right time, at the right moment.
